Isai Pavlovich Kazinets (1910-1942) – one of the organizers and leaders of the Minsk underground, secretary of the Minsk underground city committee of the Communist Party of Belarus.
An engineer by profession, Kazinets worked in Bialystok since 1939. After the start of the war, he reached Minsk and led the anti-fascist underground. One of the most important areas of activity of the Minsk underground fighters and their leader was mass political work. They organized listening to Moscow radio broadcasts and distributed reports and anti-fascist leaflets. With the participation of the secretary of the city committee, many acts of sabotage were committed against the fascists.
In March 1942, Kazinets was detained by the Gestapo. Resisting, he killed several Nazis. On May 7, 1942, Isai Kazinets was hanged in Minsk in a city park among 28 participants in the anti-fascist underground. His last words were “Death to fascism! Long live the Red Army!”
